Part 2b: Installing The Linux Boot Loader For Gag Boot Manager
Image 1. If you just came from "Part One", here we are still in the "Installation
Settings". We have taken care of our partitioning and are now ready to install the
Linux boot loader grub into the Root (/) partition where later in the final "Part
Three" we will instruct GAG boot manager to find the Linux boot loader in this location.
At this time you would choose Booting from the menu. Next...
Image 2. Now click the "Boot Loader Installation Tab". Note: Getting into advanced
boot loader options will vary in different Linux Versions. Next...

Image 3. Now un-check the "Boot From Master Boot Record and check the "Boot From
Root Partition" option. Note: The method for this option will very in different
Linux versions as well.
Tip: Stick with grub as I have never tried lillo using GAG boot manager.
Thats it - Click Finish at the bottom and you will arrive back to the "Installation
Settings" (Image 1.) area where you can customize your software choices or go with
the default software installation.
Once you are happy with everything in the "Installation Settings" area you would
click "Accept" and the Linux instalation would begin.
Note: Since we installed the Linux boot loader grub to the Root
(/) partition, you will not get a fist boot after your Linux installation until GAG
boot manager is configured. * So *, after installation is complete and Linux starts
its reboot, just pull the installation medium (be it CD or whatever) and let Windows
boot as normal. We will install GAG to a floppy from within Windows, which is easy as
pie and is demonstrated in "Part Three: Installing Gag Boot Manager.
So close this page and click the final "Part Three" link on the main article page.
